About the FSO

The Fredericton Symphony Orchestra (FSO), previously named the Fredericton Chamber Orchestra (FSO), has been giving concerts regularly in Fredericton since 1976. Orchestra members are either accomplished amateurs who have studied music and performance or professional musicians.

The FSO performs two to three times per year.

Music Director and conductor is Richard Hornsby.

Our Mission

  1. The Fredericton Symphony Orchestra exists to provide an opportunity for interested, capable persons to play symphonic music, and, through performance, to contribute to the cultural life of the region.
  2. The organization shall be carried on without purpose of gain for its members. Any profits or other accretions to the organization shall be used in promoting its objects.

Board of Directors

The Fredericton Symphony Orchestra is overseen by a Board of Directors elected by its members at the Annual General Meeting. The Board of Directors is responsible for managing the affairs of the Orchestra, meeting as often as necessary. The Board consists of an Executive, Standing Members, and Members-at-Large. Our current Board of Directors is as follows:
